Train frequency increased in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: OBB: Railway has decided to increase the frequency of Sambalpur-Nanded-Sambalpur Express from twice a week to thrice a week from February 9.
18309 Sambalpur-Nanded Express will now run on every Sunday, Monday and Friday from Sambalpur from February 9. In the return direction 18310 Nanded-Sambalpur Express will now run on every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday from February 10, East Coast Railway (ECoR) said in a release today.
The timings and stoppages for this train from both the directions will remain unchanged, it said adding the frequency as being increased in accordance with the announcement made in the last rail budget.
In another measure, following demands from passengers and to avoid rush in regular trains towards New Delhi from Visakhapatnam, ECoR has decided to augment one additional AC-2 tier coach each in Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Samata Express via Rayagada and Titilagarh and in Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Express via Vijayawada with immediate effect.
12807/12808 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Samata Express via Rayagada and Titilagarh  will be augmented with one additional AC-2 tier coach permanently and will run with 19 coaches, it said.
In another step to provide comfortable journey to the commuters in rush season, it has been decided to extend the services of Kamakhya-Yesvantpur-Kamakhya weekly Express upto March 2014.
